Free printable addition and subtraction worksheets for 1st grade. Practice sums within 20 with strategies: count on and count back, make a ten to add and get to ten to subtract, and add three numbers by finding a ten or a double first. Then subtract with pictures within 20, use number lines, turn-around facts, the equal sign and true or false equations, column addition, fact drills, and word problems, then add within 100: add and subtract tens, and add a one-digit number to a two-digit number with and without a new ten. For fact practice that feels like play, there are printable games: board games, dice and spinner games, card games and I Have, Who Has? sets for addition and subtraction to 20. Four unit tests (facts within 10, addition strategies, subtraction and the equal sign, and adding within 100) each come with a pre-check, a review and two test forms. Each of those units also has exit tickets, a quick one for every lesson, four to a page. Lesson plans give each lesson of those units a one-page plan for the teacher.
